Alvaro Hernandez Jr.

On July 16, 2022, at the age of 66, Alvaro Hernandez completed his life journey, and went to be with our Lord and be reunited with his wife, the love of his life, Sylvana. Alvaro was born on June 2, 1956. Alvaro was preceded in death by his wife Sylvana; his Sister, Lisa (Hernandez) O'Byrne; and his Father, Niceforo "Alvaro" Hernandez. Surviving are his Mother, Lucia Hernandez; Brothers: Carlos (Mary), and Victor (Rosalinda) Hernandez; Sisters: Diana Hernandez, Lori (Hernandez) Leroy, Corina (Mark) Williams; Children: Daughter Nina (Hernandez) (Dominic) Knighten; (Grandchildren: Adrian Arroyo, Taylor Knighten, & Oliver Knighten); Stepdaughters, Bianca McFarlane; (Grandchildren: Lazaro Arroyo, Nadia Arroyo, & Great Grandchild: Alvaro Arroyo) and Margo McFarlane; (Grandchild: Avery Couzzins). Alvaro was an excellent bass player, and played in bands with his Uncle Danny Hernandez and Cousin Ronny Hernandez, (as well as with multiple friends) they will continue to play in heaven now. Al loved life and was quite a joker, he loved to see people happy & laughing. He loved fishing, golfing, the Detroit Tigers, and listening to music. He will be missed deeply. May the Angels greet him in Paradise.

A visitation for Alvaro will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912 with a rosary prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will occur Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Funeral Service starting at 6pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel.
