Amy Budzynski, aged 66, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Holt Senior Care and Rehab Center, after losing her battle with cancer. She was born on July 23, 1957, in Lansing, Michigan, to loving parents Delphin “Bud” and Margaret “Jo” Budzynski of Haslett.
Amy attended Haslett Public Schools, where she enthusiastically participated as a cheerleader. Following high school graduation in 1975, Amy attended Central Michigan University, and in 1989 moved with her twin sister, Wendy to Chicago where she pursued a career with the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Amy enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, skiing, golf, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. In 2011, Amy faced a challenging chapter when she suffered a stroke, leading her to relocate a few times. Eventually, Amy and Wendy returned to Michigan to be closer to their loved ones.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Delphin “Bud” Budzynski (1992); brother, Gary Budzynski (1996); mother, Margaret “Jo” (Woodlock) Budzynski (2008); twin sister Wendy Budzynski (2016); and brother Randy Budzynski (2022). Amy is survived by her brother Stan Budzynski, Sister-in-law Deborah (Bracco) Budzynski, four nieces and nephews: Brad (Nicole) Budzynski, Amber (Curtis) Canfield, Brooke Budzynski, Justin Budzynski (and their mother Cindy Zimmerman); as well as four great nieces and nephews: Dustin Budzynski, Brenna Budzynski, Dallas Canfield, and Stephen Canfield.
Our family appreciates the special care provided by Holt Senior Care and Careline Hospice during the last few months of Amy’s life. There will be no memorial service or visitation planned at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested in Amy’s memory to either the Holt Senior Care and Rehab Center or to Careline Hospice.
