Anita Marie Hughes

Anita Marie Hughes, age 91, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. Our mom and grandma and great grandma was a true matriarch. She was the glue that held us and will keep us together. Her first love was family and that is probably her most important legacy. She is known and remembered by everyone to be a sassy, fun-loving, adventure seeking lady! She brought us all endless entertainment and laughter. Her talent as a singer, artist and "engineer" were just a few of her many abilities. She led by example to always do the right thing and to listen to your conscience. Her stubbornness was a virtue as her body no longer allowed her to enjoy the freedoms she so cherished. She fought the process of aging like no other! As so many people have told us over the years..."WOW! She's that old?! SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!" Words can't describe the amount of love, compassion, loyalty and devotion she gave her family and friends. Her generosity of spirit was endless. She CARED! Words and thoughts can never summarize what a special mom, grandma, great grandmother and friend our mom was.
