

Anita Willemse, age 65, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 31, 2023. She was born on April 4, 1958, in Patterson, New Jersey. Anita was a beloved partner to Luke Hasbany and a loving mother to her daughter Cassandra Ritenour. She adored her two granddaughters, Seraphine Ritenour and Edison Haddix. Anita is survived by her brothers Paul Willemse (Lucille) and Adrian Willemse (Rayna), her sisters Cathy Montgomery (Thomas) and Emmy Urban, as well as her nephews and nieces: Jeff, John, and James Montgomery (Nichole), Michael and Valerie Willemse, Sallie Anna Gray Willemse, and great niece Madelyn Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anna Willemse.
Anita had a vibrant personality and was known for her fun-loving nature. She was always the life of the party and had a great sense of humor. Anita was a fabulous entertainer and cook, delighting her friends and family with her culinary skills. She had a generous spirit and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Anita's career spanned 14 years at Linn Products in Charlotte, Michigan, where she recently retired. She was dedicated to her work and made many lasting friendships throughout her career.
In her free time, Anita enjoyed entertaining friends, expressing herself through art, the beach, and creating delicious meals for her loved ones. Her creativity and passion shone through in everything she did. Anita was a member of the "Yaya's," a loving group composed of her mother and the three sisters. Their camaraderie was infectious, their love for each other, inspiring.
Funeral services for Anita Willemse, organized by Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel in Lansing, Michigan, have not yet been announced. The family will gather to remember and celebrate Anita's life.
