Anna Rosa (Nico) Stornant was born July 22, 1929, to Domenico and Agata Nico in Lansing, MI. She passed away on January 8, 2013. She met the love of her life Tom, while attending St. Mary Cathedral High School. She and Tom have been married for 64 years and together they have 10 children.
Anna’s unconditional love for her family is the legacy she left behind. She fed their bodies with her amazing Italian cooking and baking, in which she took great pride. She nurtured their hearts and souls with a most profound faith. She was the most wonderful example of motherhood and a dedicated wife.
To think of Anna and her beautiful smile will always bring us a sense of joy. Her love of children went well beyond her own family, as is seen by so many lives that she touched. Her passion was knitting the most beautiful baby blankets and afghans to give to as many of her loved ones that she could. She loved to attend every sporting event of her children and grandchildren, and was a dedicated Spartan fan. Anna looked forward each week to having coffee with her dear and dedicated friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Domenico and Agata Nico; her brothers Vito and Phillip, and sister Angela; her guardian family, Michael and Mary Dipippa and Anna Marie; her son David; and her grandson Alonso (Bonz) Collar.
She is survived by her husband Tom, her children: Claudia (Hank) Lotoszinski, Dionne Reynolds, Tom Jr. (Maryellen) Stornant, Stefeni (Alonso) Collar, Steve (Barb) Stornant, Paul Stornant, Mary Sue (Russ) Lundberg, Mike (Amy) Stornant, and Amy Jo (Brett) Robinson; grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Corey, Kim (Ford) Turrell, David (Suzanne) Reynolds, Anna, Sarah, Tom III, Kera Stornant, Alina, Anthony, Ashleigh and Alexander Collar, Nicole (Jeremy) Jones, Claudia and Robert Lundberg, and Gabriele and Domenic Stornant; great-grand children, Sam and Chris Corey, Carmen Jones, Amelia and Evelyn Turrell; and many nieces and nephews.
