Ardis E. Taylor

Lansing, MI

Ardis passed on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the age of 81, having been born on March 27, 1931. She grew up in Tustin, MI and graduated from Burdell Twp. Agricultural School in 1950. She joins her beloved eldest daughter Nancy Green, her parents, Emil and Volga Eastlund, and her sister-in-law, Shirley Eastlund. She leaves behind a multitude of heart-broken family and friends. Her devoted husband of 43 years, Leonard C. Taylor; children, Brian Wilbanks and Michelle Taylor; as well as her life-long friend, Thelma Olmsted; her loving brothers, Dale(Ardith) Eastlund and Victor(Cecilia) Eastlund; nieces and nephews, Alvin and Darrell Eastlund, Susan Birkam, and Vicki Wilson; her grandchildren, Amanda and Joshua Wilbanks, Stacie Burcham, Steven, Thomas and Paul Green, and an especially faithful Sarah Green. Ardis had previously worked at Ingham County Medical Care Facility, then began child care in her home, helping to raise many dozens of children that look back upon her fondly. Ardis enjoyed spending time in her backyard among the wildlife, flowers and natural setting, rocking in the glider and lemonade in her hand. She loved vacations, but loved her home more, always getting a sparkled smile when the first lilac bloomed out her window. Visiting and laughing with friends and family was her greatest joy. She was a long-time member and volunteer at Pennway Church Of God in Lansing, where she will be sorely missed. Visitation is Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at Gorsline-Runciman, 900 E Michigan Ave., Lansing. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm with family receiving visitors beginning at noon, at Pennway Church of God, 1101 E. Cavanaugh, Lansing.
