

Arlene was born and raised in Lansing where she lived a long and meaningful life. She met the love of her life Charles Henderson, and they married in 1946 and had three wonderful children Linda, Jackie and Chuck. They shared many happy years together camping at Horsehead Lake, dancing and being involved with VFW Post 6132 until his passing in 1984. Years later she found love again with JR Carey, they married in 1986 and enjoyed each other until his passing in 2006. Arlene especially enjoyed spending time with family and attending craft shows with her sister Janet.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Roy) Lovaas, and her son, Chuck (Linda) Henderson; her grandchildren, Wayne, Scott, Jennifer, Heather, Lauren, and Alex; eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Hatt, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Alva and Kenneth; her husbands, Chuck and JR; her daughter, Linda; and her great-grandson, Jared.
Arlene’s legacy lives on through the many generations of family who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, located at 3232 W. Saginaw Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917, on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be a visitation on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, procession to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens to follow the service.
