Arnetta "Peg" Wood

Mrs. Arnetta “Peg” (Gould) Wood, formerly of Lansing, MI, died peacefully on December 11, 2015 in Bessemer, AL. at the age of 90. Arnetta is survived by her three daughters to cherish her memory, Rebecca Wood Austin (Blake) of Helena, AL., Kathleen Wood Shea, of Live Oak, FL., and Barbara Wood of Green Bay, WI. She is survived by six grandchildren, Melissa Austin Smith (Jerry) Michael Austin, Meredith Austin Moorer (Gaines,) Thomas Shea (Jennifer,) Jeffrey Shea (Amy,) and Ellen Shea. Mrs. Wood is also survived by five great grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Jackson Smith, Lillian Moorer, Charlotte Moorer and Anna Isabelle Shea. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Nelson L Wood. Arnetta was born on April 17, 1925 in Ithaca, MI. to Lawrence and Myrtie Gould. She graduated from Ithaca High School in 1943. She married Nelson L. Wood, in 1946, whom she met after moving to Lansing. Arnetta was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17th at 10:00 a.m. with visitation directly preceding at 9:00. Services to be held at Gorsline Runsiman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arnetta’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ele’s Place of Lansing, 1145 W. Oakland Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48915.
