Arnold Chacon, age 82 of Lansing, Michigan passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. He was born February 10, 1938 in Guatemala the son of Benjamin and Sophia (Giron) Chacon.
Arnold proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Motor Wheel in Lansing. He was a phenomenal pool player and an excellent bowler. Arnold had a love of music and was a gifted harmonica player. He will be remembered for his love of cooking, canning food and feeding people. Arnold was known to pass the time riding around in his dune buggy.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Michelle (Chacon) Burkhardt and her husband, Doug; 3 grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal) Chacon, Kristen (Jarred) Cook and LCPL Michael Burkhardt, USMC; 2 great-grandchildren, Braelyn Cook and Brielle Cook; former wife, Linda (Jack) Hanneman. Arnold is also survived by his special friends, James Hank Nelson, Phil Wilson, Glenda Cairns, Lynn Davis, Jeff Sage, George Ammann and Bubba. He is preceded in death by his parents and former mother-in-law, Marion Ball.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48917. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Harold DeMott as Celebrant at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, Michigan. Due to COVID precautions we are limiting family and guests to 25 people at any given time, we also ask that everyone visiting the Funeral Home please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
