Arthur Alvarado

Arthur Alvarado, born September 26, 1941 in McAllen Texas, was peacefully taken by our Lord and Savior on August 29, 2015. Arthur was a retired Corrections Officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Arthur loved to golf, (or tried to), going to the casinos, but most of all he loved to make people laugh. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. His children, grandkids and great grandkids were his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Ledesma; late wife Gloria Alvarado; daughter, Genevieve; grandsons, Joey and David Artie; great grandson, Micah; and sister, Guadalupe Gloria Martinez. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Melissa, children, Patty (Brenner) Bonene, Hope (Dean) Carlson, Jim, Noe, and George; 13 grandkids; 4 great grandkids; sister, Angie (Jose) Alvarado Pena; brothers, Tony(Lori) Alvarado and Jose (Charo) Domingo Alvarado; stepchildren, William and Elizabeth; and numerous relatives and loving friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 201 W. Miller Road, Lansing with Rev. Fred Thelen officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
