I just want to respond to a post that was on FB about walking with God....and I thought of you for some reason ,maybe because I really saw the sharp transition in you in 1999. It was obvious to me that you were in search for Gods' truths when you came to see the Shoud of Turin [the blanket with Jesus' face and body image on it] that was on display at our church. It was obvious that you wanted everything that I was seeing in the Shroud , and you did see it too. Growing up you always walked with God and it showed in your character and your behavior as a sweet,caring brother ...Let there be no doubts by anyone on earth ,just where you are because I saw your hand in Gods' as He showed you around Heaven......April 1st ...used to be a really fun day ,and your birthday too ,but you mainly were who I wanted to fool on that day....love and miss you ...I know you are smiling ...mostly ...on each one of us.

On this of all days. I wanted to remember you. You always brought a sense of reality and kindness to this rather cruel and mundane day that is April Fool's day. Happy Birthday Uncle Aub. You are missed.

Uncle Aub you will aways be remembered by your kindness. You shared your home with us when my mother and dad got a devorce. They are great memories. We lived on your front porch. Every day when you came home from work you walked to the store and came back with a eight pack of 16 oz coke. You shared it with all.Randy, Larry, Dennis, and Penny were all babies at the time. I think Penny was still in diapers. My heart goes out to you all. God Bless. Be nice to see you all again.

The pain is unbeleivable. My Dad was one in a million. God blessed us when he made Aubrey part of our lives, still trying to understand WHY the time was cut short.?? I'm so thankful that we have so many awesome memories of him! I will never forget the time he came into my office at work & asked me if I had a minute, he shut the door, sat down & began telling me how much he loved me & how proud of me he was. He said he has loved me from the first day he met me & wished he would of gotten me earlier in life. He was so serious, & his peacefull eyes looking at me! I will never forget! God I miss you Dad! I promised you I would take care of Mom & I am!

I miss you so much Grandpa. You really were the best man in the wold, I am so lucky to have had you in my life. Thank you for the many things you taught me in life including how to conduct myself as a man, I can only hope to be half the man you were. Thanks and I Love you!

I remember when I was around 16 years old and you were pitching for the other team and you were oitching everyone out . He was so good at pitching out all the players that after the game ,I went up to Aub [became my brother in law 1954] I asked him to come pitch for our team and we won the game with his excellant pitching ,they never got any runs ,my team won 12 to 0....That was my first encounter with Aub Gay . Later learning that he was the brother to this cute little gal in my brother Rudy's class room ....Always saw you as an honorable boy ,and later into a honorable man .I was glad to have been related to you...

I remember going to Uncle Aub"s as a kid of about 10 and there being a bunch of cousins from the family running around. Then talking to him about guns and Afghanistan at the Flap Jack House. RIP keep your powder dry Uncle Aub. Love, Steve

I am lucky to have know the Hillybilly, for a lot of years, and have many wonderful memories of trips, camping, and just plain old visits. Love him Blondie and the Burrhead

I just wanted to add some other observations that I have about you Aub,and it's not just me as your sister that has taken note of these observations , and that is that every where that I go, the first words out of peoples mouths ,your friends and your family is that you are and always were a good and most honorable man as a friend , a brother ,a husband,and a father ....so its not just those who love you, its every one who knew you as a person.....I just wanted this legacy to be added to this beautiful book that was created on your behalf.... I will always love and miss you sunny man...I need a report by the way if you will.

My dear uncle, you are a person to be admired. Our last conversation has stuck in my mind,and I have used your words in my thoughts daily. Our family is not complete without you. Your are an inspiration to mankind. I feel at peace knowing you are with God and in no more pain. I'll always love you, and miss you too.

It is hard to believe that its already been a month since you left... I cried when I realized that fact ...I called our sister and cried into her ear and she did into mine as well. We reminised on how you loved to teach everyone things that you were excited about .I know God is holding your hand and is showing you around heaven Himself...How awesome...love and miss you.

My deepest sympathy to all of the immediate family and friends. I have very special memories of my uncle Aubrey as a child and young adult. I know he's in Gods hands now to keep him safe and at peace. He had a wonderful family and friends in which he will be deeply missed.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral home but my age now tells me where i can and cannot go. I made it to the parking lot at 9:30 am but was forced by nature to leave. send me your addresses and tel nos. so i can talk to you. Aub will be missed but he is now in his happy hunting ground along with the rest of our dear ones who have departed the bonds of this earth.

I worked with Aubrey at the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing. He was part of an elite group of guys that worked on repairing the cars after final assembly.
Enjoyed is wit and his humor.
I loved to here his southern drawl. He will be missed.
