Barbara Jean Kieffer

Age 89 passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She was born March 8, 1924 in Lansing the daughter of Fay and Mary Ellen (Sims) Franklin. She married Vincent Kieffer and he preceded her in death in 1989. Barbara was a beautician and former owner of a beauty shop in Brighton. She loved to travel, play cards, especially poker with her sisters, enjoyed gambling and casinos. Besides her husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol; 2 brothers, Jack and Bill and sister, Betty. She is survived by her children: Paulette Powers, Mary Helen Symonds, Bob (Susan) Kieffer, Janice (Bob) Hanson, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother, Fay Franklin and sisters, Joan (Gene) McCloy, Dolores Mandeville and Mary Jane O'Malley. The family will celebrate Barbara's life on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Parish with Father John Fain officiating. Burial St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Rosary service at 7 PM at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
