Barbara J. Reitz

Barbara J. (Thomas) Reitz, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 3, 2016. She was born December 30, 1927 in Lansing, MI to William and Emaline R. (Metters) Thomas. Barbara was the owner and operator of Midway Beauty Shop in Holt, MI. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida, and vacationing at the family cottage up north in the summer. Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Reitz; daughters, Carol and Vickie; son, James; and brother, Clinton Thomas. Surviving to cherish her memory are son, David R. (Terry) Reitz; grandchildren, Jason, Chana, Tori, Sam, Jamie, and Shane; several great grandchildren; brother, William Thomas; and sister, Delores (Ed) Heiden. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI with Rev. Dr. Harold DeMott officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, MI. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
