Bernice was a long time member of the Polish National Alliance. Bernice worked at Lansing Community College as an enrollment clerk. She was also a retail clerk for Knapp's Clothing Store. Bernice was an active member of Church of the Resurrection for many years.
The Catholic faith was a very important part of Bernice's life, she would pray the rosary often and attended mass weekly, until she started getting sick.
Bernice married John Yonchewski on June 11th, 1949 at Sacred Heart of Mary in Weirton, West Virginia. After Bernice and John were married they moved to the Lansing area. He preceded her in death, on December 14, 1999. Bernice is also preceded in death by her parents, and brother; Fred.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, John (Dorothy), three granddaughters, brothers, Stan and Casimer (Betty), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Ingham County Medical Care Facility for the excellent care she received.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Church of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour visitation before the service.
