

Born June 12, 1956 in Grayling, MI, the daughter of Dr. Benjamin and Jeanette (Farrington) Henig, passed away February 11, 2013 at the age of 56. Betina held a Ph.D. in Philosophy and taught as an Adjunct Professor at Lansing Community College. She will be remembered as an advocate of lifelong learning. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Elmore Henig, M.D.; and infant baby Brother Henig. Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Jeanette Henig; sisters, Jeanette (Don) Sawyer, Gretchen Nelson, Candace (Mike) Henig-Monroe and Claudia Henig; nieces, Melissa Sawyer, Farish Sawyer, Samantha (Kirk) Tunnecliffe and Elizabeth (Jim) Chandler; grand-nephews, Ryan, Noah and Evan; and grand-niece, Alaina. There will be a memorial gathering held in the summer of 2013, on the Au Sable River in Grayling, MI.
