Bette Jean Hulbert

Bette Jean Hulbert, age 101, passed away at Burcham Hills Retirement Community in East Lansing, MI on September 16, 2024. She was born on November 28, 1922 in Lansing, MI. She retired from Michigan State University in 1985 and had a long and wonderful retirement. She loved traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

She was born on November 28, 1922 in Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Gladys (Stair) Hogan; her husband, Julian Hulbert; a brother, Donald Hogan; sisters Norma Norman and Phyllis Goorhouse; her daughter, Carolyn Verhaeghe; her granddaughter, Susan Duyck; and a great-granddaughter, Kelly Duyck.

She is survived by daughters, Janice (Dale) Dezess and Barbara (David) Walker; grandchildren, Russ Bryan, Julie (John) Adair, Ron (Terri) Kinch, Debbie (Randy) Bellant, Shelley Hirsch, Scott Reed, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 10:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Following the burial, there will be a luncheon held at 1:30 pm in the Banquet Room at Coral Gables Restaurant located at 2838 East Grand River Avenue in East Lansing, MI.
