Betty Jo Dunn, age 89, was born in Bradford, Arkansas on December 1st, 1936. The seventh child of nine born to Joe and Henrietta Whitener. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven of her siblings. Survived by one brother, Freddy Whitener of Arkansas.
In 1954, Betty married the love of her life for 71 years, Clintis Dunn. Shortly after, they began their journey north, stopping briefly in Indiana and then on to Lansing, Michigan, where she lived until her death on December 13, 2025, peacefully at her home, with her husband and daughter by her side.
She had one daughter, Regina Dunn, and grandpup, Gracie. Plus several other "children of her heart," Natalie, Emily, Scott, Sam, Jacob, Joseph and Christen, as well as many family and friends.
A funeral service for Betty will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM. with a half-hour prior visitation from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917, Reverend Mark McCormick of Mayflower Church officiating.
