Bobby Joe Powers

Bobby Joe Powers passed away on March 10, 2011 at the age of 78. He was born on October 5, 1932. Surviving are his wife Bonnie Powers; Daughters Dianne (Jerry Glynn) Powers, Karen Powers, and Trudy Powers; Step-Children Bruce Schartzer and Lisa (Mick) Grewal; 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Bobby loved to play his guitar faithfully since the age of 12 and enjoyed getting together with friends to play every Thursday. Mr. Powers retired from the State of Michigan after many years of service. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912 with the Rev. Gary Covert officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2:00–4:00 P.M. and 6:00–8:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Okemos, Michigan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Capitol City Chapter Eight, P.O.
