

Carol Louise Seamon, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born January 7, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio to Carl and Margaret (Burkett) Rossman. Carol moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., when she was 13, where she attended high school and Mercy Central School of Nursing, and married her husband, Roger Seamon. She worked for a number of years as an RN and moved to Lansing in 1966. She returned to Michigan State University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the 1980s, and worked for Ingham County Health Department until her retirement in 2003.
Carol was very active with the Church of the Resurrection in Lansing, the Capital Area Audubon Society and several quilt guilds, and volunteered with the Red Cross. She also learned to play the oboe with MSU’s New Horizons Band in her 60s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Seamon; her parents; and her brother, Charles Rossman.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Scott) Tappan and Philip (Cathie Jo) Seamon; grandchildren, Emily Gordy, Matthew and Clare Seamon; sisters, Barbara (Tom) Baranoski and Nancy (Ken) Bogardus, and sister-in-law, Marcia Rossman.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00p m at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
