August 30, 1949 – April 19, 2020
Charlene Adkins, 70, passed away on April 19, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 30, 1949 to Hassel and Roberta (Manley) McCoy. Charlene loved visiting casinos, playing the slot machines, and BINGO games as well as going out for dinner. She especially enjoyed trips to Mackinaw City. She loved to cook and was well known for the big Southern breakfasts she would cook up for large crowds. The biggest enjoyment in her life, though, were her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow up. Charlene loved to laugh, and her joyful spirit will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Adkins Sr.; her son, Chuckie Adkins; her parents; and her siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Allen (Linda Kenney) Adkins Jr., Loretta (David) Trudell, and Tammy (Kevin) Luttrell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jim McCoy; and sisters, Betty Storey, and Jan Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice, in honor of the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
