

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Hewitt Leap; sons, Bradley K., Brian P., and Gregory K. (Kristin) Leap; and grandchildren Michael R. and Allison M. Leap.
Charles grew up in Speed, Indiana, received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from U. of Louisville, Ky., and a Masters of Engineering from M.S.U. He served in the U.S. Navy as a courier from the Pentagon from 1960-63, came to Michigan and worked for an engineering firm in Jackson. He then moved to Lansing where he worked for the State of Michigan Highway and Transportation Dept, 1966-68, then DNR Land and Water Management until retirement in 1997. He was active in the Landlords of Mid-Michigan, National, & Michigan Societies of Engineering, and was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Other than his wife and family, he had a great passion for genealogy and history. He was involved with Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society, Eaton County Historical Commission, Delta Township Historical Society, and was a member of Lansing, Grand Ledge, and Indiana Historical Societies.

Visitation for Charles will be Tuesday, January 20, 2-4 and 6-8P.M. at Tiffany Funeral Home 3232 W Saginaw, Lansing.
