Cheryl M. (Delaney) Williams, age 78, of Bath, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed into eternal life on November 25, 2024, after a brief illness. Cheryl was born on January 13, 1946, in Lansing, MI, to Charlotte (Maloy) Delaney and Earl Delaney. She attended Resurrection School (K-11) and graduated from Gabriels High School, Lansing, in 1964. She attended Michigan State University for 3 years. Cheryl devoted 31 years of service to Michigan State University, as a Buyer, and as an Accounting Assistant. During her career, she touched the lives of countless colleagues and students and remained friends with many of them until her passing. She loved her flower gardens and had a gift for cultivating beautiful flowers that often grew much taller than she was.
Above all else, family and friends were the most important thing to Cheryl, and she cherished her 57 years of marriage to her devoted and loving husband, Mac. She adored her son and daughter, their spouses, and her grandsons, and spending time with them and her husband brought her tremendous joy. She often spoke of her parents and siblings and had extremely fond memories of growing up with them and visiting with them over the years. She would light up with love and excitement every time she saw a family member, including her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and her many nieces and nephews. She especially loved holding newborn family members and would treasure every moment she had with them. Cheryl was kind, humble, and compassionate. She fought life’s battles with courage and strength, and she was admired and loved by all who knew her. She was tiny in stature but had unflinching bravery and will forever remain an inspiration. You can carry on Cheryl’s legacy by enjoying the simple things in life, holding tight to those you love, and by being unfailingly kind to everyone you encounter.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Mac Williams; son, Dan (Amanda Keener) Williams; daughter, Anne (Raymond) Scheib; grandchildren, Benjamin and Colin Scheib; siblings, Donald Delaney, Douglas (Linda) Delaney, Dennis (Patricia) Delaney, and Suzanne Price; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arthur (Beverly) Williams, Connie (Bob) Bolyard, and Mary Williams; dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
