Christine May (McCurdy) French

Christine McCurdy French of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family.

Tena was born on January 1, 1943 to William and Mary Lester McCurdy. She was preceded in death by her partner of 19 years, Max Feldpausch. Loving mother of Scott N. French (Jennifer) and the late Michael A. French (Shannon). Sister of Stella Atherton (Rod), and the late William, Kenneth (Vicki), and Richard (Sharon) McCurdy. Grandmother of Ashli, Cassie, Madison, Mason, Anthony (Sara), and Haley (Codi). Great-grandmother of Seth, Aubriana, Carter and Camden. She is also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews.

Tena grew up in Mason and later moved to Laingsburg where she raised her family. She worked for and retired from Michigan State University and always cheered on the Spartans. She supported her children growing up by always attending their many sporting events. Family time included weekends riding motorcycles. She loved to crochet and enjoyed making hats to be donated to children cancer patients and those in need. She was always making an afghan, scarf or other item for her friends and family. She was passionate about helping others and never met a stranger. Her deepest love was teddy bears. She was an avid collector of all things bears. That was evident by the many bears she had displayed in her home. She also liked to travel and see new things. One of her fondest memories of travel was getting to feed baby cubs. She also had a love for music.

A memorial will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in Common Area at the Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Road, Mason, MI.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX. 75284-0692.

Aunt Tena was a giving and caring person. She loved animals, traveling out West and her family. She loved making hats to donate to Kennedy’s closet in Lansing and childhood cancer patients. She will be missed by so many. Fly high with the angels. We love you.

Tena was a great listener and had great creatively with baking her moms rolls and knitting hats and other amazing things. Ill miss her laugh and smile.
