Christopher D’Metrio Anderson was born on March 13, 1985 to Mary Ann Anderson and Eferom Townsend in Los Angeles, California. Christopher a.k.a. “Chris” was a very happy and loving child with a compassionate and kind heart. As a very young boy Christopher accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Mountaintop Faith Ministry in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served the teen ministry at age 9 and by 11 years old, he received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Chris was the youngest member on the teen ministry team and earned the respect of his peers as an effective minister. During middle and high school Chris was nicknamed “Preacher”.

At age 16, Chris and his family moved to Lansing, MI and joined Mount Hope Church. He served in the Youth Alive teen ministry, Music and Media ministry and as a Bus Pastor in the community outreach ministry. He faithfully attended Mount Hope before supporting his friend and minister Jerome Virling at his church City Life of Lansing.

Christopher met Gabrielle Anderson, his wife of 12 years, on his first day at Mount Hope Church. He was 16 and she was 13 at the time. After several years of friendship and dating they wed on April 19th, 2009. Seven years into marriage, they were blessed with their only child, Kaidence Elizabeth Hope Anderson. Chris was truly dedicated to his family. His most prized possession was his family and his role as a faithful husband and father. Though he had many roles and passions such as media and video production and being the best customer service person, his most favorite role of all was being Kaidence’s Dad!

Christopher’s earthly assignment ended at age 36, on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 1:53 a.m. in the loving company of his family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted wife, Gabrielle, his precious daughter, Kaidence, loving parents, mother, Mary Ann, father, Eferom; grandmother, Joyce, brothers: Andre’ D. (Paula), Brandon, Joshua; sisters: Alyse (Dominic), Tiana Ann; mother-in-law, Wendy; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Thomas); brother-in-law, Joshua (Stephanie); 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 6 aunts, 2 uncles, cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Thank you Chris for the legacy of love you left in our hearts and lives. You will forever be in ours.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Kaidence’s college fund.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grlansing.com for the Anderson family.

To The Anderson Family on behalf of your West Coast Family! Sending our deepest heartfelt condolences to each of our family members on the loss of our nephew, cousin and grandson. What a beautiful Obituary and Tribute and truly comforting to know that Christopher was the epitome of a Christian husband, father, leader and servant of the Lord. He has made a mark in our hearts and lives that will never be erased. Praying God's comfort, strength and peace that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus now and in the difficult days and months ahead! Grandma Jessie shared how when Chris came to visit her here in California in March his dad gave him $100 but when his dad went outside Chris crumbled the money up and let it drop out of his pocket unto the floor. My mom picked it up to hand it back to him and he just smiled and pretended like he didn't know it had fallen out of his pocket and wouldn't take it back so they both laughed and he hugged his grandma and she said she wouldn't tell his dad. We have such fond, loving and joyful memories of our handsome nephew, cousin and grandson! Although we will miss him dearly here we have the Blessed Assurance we will see him again when we make it home! 🙏🏼✝️

The first time I met Chris was when he joined our family on a guy's trip to a Men’s conference- called Manpower. My first encounter with Chris left me with the impression of a man full of passion, love and joy that was sincere. Chris' love for Jesus and people certainly leaves a lasting imprint. Praying the Lord’s strength, comfort and peace.

We would like to express our condolences to the family and especially to Mary Ann, Gabrielle and Kaidance. Chris was such a fine young man who lived life with integrity, much love and kindness. He always had a smile and a good word for everyone. What a wonderful example of living your faith in Christ Jesus. Our paths didn’t cross often but our memories of Chris warms our hearts and reminds us to love God and treat others with love and respect. RIH❤️
