IN THE CARE OF
Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel
It is with great sadness we must announce the passing of our father Christopher James Chirio on September 15, 2022. Chris was diagnosed with many chronic diseases but that did not stop him from living his best life. When the doctors confronted his children with the news that “your father is a very sick man,” in unison they replied, “you have no idea.” He loved to entertain whether that be to tell a joke (usually dirty), sing a song or share an entertaining story. He will be remembered for his love of music, trivia and being around friends and family. Chris unfortunately was never selected to be a contestant on jeopardy but that did not stop him from always knowing it all. Chris was an avid karaoke singer and was fondly known to the Lansing karaoke community as “Papa Bear”. He was a friend to many and always available to lend an ear or provide support. We are heartbroken to lose him. Chris despised formality and stuffiness and would really be ticked off if you showed up in a suit. Dress comfortably. The family encourages you to don the most colorful/inappropriate T-Shirt that you are comfortable being seen in public with as Chris often did. Everybody has a Chris story, and we’d love to hear them all at the Delta Community Center 7550 W. Willow Hwy. Lansing, MI 48917 on October 2, 2022, from 2-5pm. A light meal will be served as Chris felt no get-together was complete without food. Gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in Christopher’s memory to Alzheimer’s foundation, or your local high school drama or music programs.
