Chris was born on August 15, 1972 in Lansing, Michigan to Mary Ann Clark and Christopher Charles Clark. Upon graduating from Holt High School, Chris attended Western Michigan University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, “Pikes.” After earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Chris returned to the Lansing area to begin a career working for the State of Michigan.
Chris married Leah Piwinski (Clark) on September 27, 2008. Shortly thereafter, they happily welcomed two beautiful children, Benjamin Christopher and Abigail Grace. Leah, Ben and Abby were Chris’s proudest achievements. He spent countless hours cheering on their kids from the sidelines, coaching their teams, and celebrating their victories. And there is no place he would rather have been!
Chris was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – his family. His passing has created an incredible void in so many lives, but none more so than in the hearts of his beautiful family. He will be remembered as a man of great integrity with a bright smile and quick wit. His attitude, courage and strength over the last few years spoke volumes to his character. He was loved by so many, and he will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 13 years Leah Clark; his children Benjamin and Abigail Clark; his mother Mary Clark, his father Christopher Clark, his step-mother Sue Clark, his siblings Nichole (Tony) Rodriguez, Michelle (Steve) Wallock, and Russel (Alicia) Clark, and his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. A fund to support Chris’s children has also been established by the family.
A celebration of life will be held for all who wish to attend on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy – Bengel Wildlife (6380 Drumheller Rd., Bath Twp, MI 48808).
