Clara moved to Lansing, Michigan in the late 1960’s. Clara was a home maker who enjoyed going to concerts, fishing, traveling, cooking, gardening and baking.
Clara loved caring for her children. She was a mother to many in our family, who loved her unconditionally.
Clara worked for the Tri-County Health Agency for several years. She retired from the Lansing Mall, when her health declined.
We have all enjoyed the weekend barbeques and fish frys that our mom loved, with Johnnie Taylor in the background.
Waiting to welcome her home are her grandparents, Clara and Frank Carter, Annie and Will Powe, dad DeNorth Carter, sisters Annie M. Young and Dorothy M. Carter, brothers Albert C. Carter and Willie D. Carter.
Left behind to cherish her memory are mother Rose Etta Carter, daughters Bobbie J. Bell, Michelle (Willie) Ford-Moseley, sons Joseph Bell, Jr, Crist L. Bell and Kevin L. Bell, sisters Annie P. Carter, Mary E. Carter, Evelyn Carter and Tiffany Allen, her brothers John H. Carter and Michael (Kriss) Carter and a host of grand and great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Clara Mae's life will be later when family and friends will be able to gather.
