It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cody Lee Holcomb, age 29, a young man from Sunfield. Born in Lansing, Michigan on April 17, 1996, to loving parents, Gary and Starla Holcomb. Cody was a devoted brother to Amy Holcomb, Ashley Holcomb, Angel Holcomb, and Dusty Snow. He is also survived by his nieces Lari’anna, Katherine, and Amaiya, and nephews Anthony Jr. and Bentley, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
Cody’s life was a testament to his deep love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, always eager to see his parents grow old and watch his nieces and nephews grow up. A man of great spirit and character. Cody had a way of making everyone feel heard, offering counsel when needed and filled the room with warmth and laughter. He had a heart as big as his personality, a stubborn prick at times, but always genuine, brave and full of life.
Cody was a passionate Michigan State football fan and spent countless hours watching games and playing Madden with friends and family. He also had a love for RC cars, a hobby in which he mastered driving with his mouthpiece — a true testament to his determination, strength and resilience. Despite facing immense challenges, his enthusiasm never waned. He had an undeniable zest for life, always staying higher than cloud nine, in both spirit and adventure, inspiring all who knew him.
Above all, Cody had a rare gift for making those around him feel valued and loved. Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy of love, laughter and strength will live in the hearts of those who knew him. He was taken far too soon, but his impact will never be forgotten.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, Michigan 48912. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Rest easy, Cody. You will forever be in our hearts—loved beyond measure and missed beyond words.
