

David Paul Winkler was born at home at McLoud, Oklahoma September 10, 1942 and died at his home in Lansing, Michigan on February 11, 2010 David earned his Masters at Michigan State University and was currently employed as a valued electrical engineer at GMC plant in Lansing for over 40 years. He was an Army veteran. He was a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul Thomas Winkler and Mary Margaret Mitchell Winkler and brother Donnie Harold Winkler all of McLoud, OK. He is survived by two sisters and one brother in law, Judy Silva of Shawnee, OK and Martin and Beth Thomas of Emporia, KS. His three daughters, Stacylayne Winkler of Lansing, Hollyanne Gandy of Hertford, NC, and Julie Jessen of Lansing, three sons Robert Paul Winkler of Adelphi, MD, David Mitchell Winkler of Hyattsville, MD and William Simpson Winkler currently of Tokyo, Japan. Several grandchildren including Bryana Richmond, Michael Lee Gandy, and Taylor Marie Jessen, Special Friend Diane Jessen-Winkler and a multitude of extended family and friends. David was a tireless worker and avid reader. He was noted for his quick wit and sense of humor as well as his kindness and generous nature. Visitation for David will be from 3-5 P.M.
