

Deborah Faith West, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born on May 12, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan, Deborah was the cherished daughter of Vernon and Faith Wood. She lived a life defined by love, kindness, strength, and devotion to her family. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering support.
As a mother, she was the foundation of her family. She offered guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love throughout her children's lives. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and acceptance, where family and friends were always welcome.
Deborah’s faith was the foundation of her life. She carried herself with kindness, generosity, and unwavering love, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to those in need. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and tending to her garden. Whether she was enjoying a good book, spending time with loved ones, or helping others, she brought joy and compassion to every moment.
For more than 20 years, Deborah devoted her career to education, teaching elementary school students in the Ingham and Clinton County school districts. She had a special gift for nurturing young minds and inspiring a love of learning.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom West; her children, Elizabeth West, Emily (Rudy) Gallegos, and Thomas West; her grandchildren, Alexis West, Makayla West, Lillian VanDamme, Zanaya Emanuel, Lakira Norman, Allison Gallegos and Amir Brown; her great-grandson, Rahmir Perry; and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Though her passing leaves a profound void, her legacy of love, resilience, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with immediate family gathering at 5:00 p.m. and family and friends welcome from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, Michigan 48917. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be done on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, Michigan 49012
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
