Debra Ann Hethorn went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ on April 2, 2015 at the age of 64. She was born October 21, 1950 at St. Lawrence Hospital to Kenneth and Alice Cronk and was a lifelong resident of Lansing.
Debra graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in 1968 and received her Cosmetology License the same year. She was a loving stay at home mom when her children were little, the hardest job in the world, and worked several years at Beauty Salons and Retail Sales.
Debra married her high school sweetheart Chris G. Hethorn on April 3, 1969. Our marriage of 46 years was filled with love, hardship, and sorrow. We were very surprised when we first met to find out we were born the same day, month and year! Our birthdays were extra special because we always got two free meals and a cake! Debra was a huge animal lover and had about every kind allowed in the city.
Debra is survived by her husband, Chris G. Hethorn; brother, Steven D. Cronk; her daughter, Carrie A. (Harry) Reynolds; her son Chris E. (Kristina) Hethorn; and seven grandchildren who she loved so much, Kyle; Tyler; Paige; Ethan; Dakota; Chance and Brayden.
Debra fought and battled a rare brain disease (Corticobasal Degeneration). At first she was diagnosed for three other diseases including Parkinson’s but after it progressed a few years, University of Michigan Neurologists gave Debra the bad news. It slowly paralyzed her over the next 4 years including her speech and she never complained once. She is my only Love, Hero and I will miss her so much.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 tp 8:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing; there will be no Funeral or Grave Side Services.
In lieu of flowers please give to a local animal shelter or to your favorite charity in Debra‘s Name.
The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
