Delores Elnora LaPorti

Delores was a devoted and loving family woman whose warmth and strength touched everyone who knew her. Known for her fiery spirit and deep compassion, she brought both energy and comfort to those around her throughout her life.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing card games, working on word searches, watching movies, and, above all, spending cherished time with her family.

Delores is survived by her children: Christina Klingbeil, Victor LaPorti, and Mary (Mike) Tickner; along with several beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her spouses: Melvin St. Clair, Basil Smith, and Vincent LaPorti; her son, Steven A. (Denise) Smith; and her siblings: Theodore (Dorothy) Slocum and Chequeta (John) Dunn.

A funeral service for Delores will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912. A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:30pm.
