Born July 4, 1929 in Cambridge, Ohio, the son of Harold and Pearl Haught, passed away on January 24, 2012 at the age of 82. Donald joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served his country for four years in Germany and Japan as an airplane mechanic. He retired from Fisher Body in 1980 and spent many happy summers in Pentwater, MI. He loved sailing and enjoyed his years as the treasurer and commander of the Lansing Power Squadron serving as a teacher of basic boating techniques. He helped support his grandson Austin’s racing career. He and Judith spent three wonderful winters with Austin at The Georgia Practice Facility near Cairo, GA. Donald loved traveling and spending time with Austin and his family at various race tracks. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his parents; surviving are his beloved wife Judith; son, Bryan Donald (Debbie) Haught; grandson, Austin Bryan; brother, James; and numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Faith Church, 2300 Lake Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI with military honors to follow the service. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Those desiring may make contributions in memory of Donald to Eaton Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 2675 S.
