Doris and I were roommates in Ann Arbor one summer while finishing our Masters Degrees in Library Science. Later on, she picked me up early every morning to go to breakfast before we went to work at the Genesee Co. Library Headquarters building. Later than that, when I was a Branch Librarian in Davison, she visited twice weekly with her great stories and immense enthusiasm. We remained online friends after I left Michigan. I will so miss knowing she is there, and the world will be a less happy place without her.

Doris was one of the first librarians with whom I worked. She was a role model for me, as well as many other librarians. Not only was she a terrific librarian, she was a lot of fun. Along with other librarian friends, Carol Day and Gail Lutton, for several summers, we all had happy times together in Stratford, Ont. We all loved Doris, along with many others....and we will miss her.

Doris and my mother, Barb Woodard, were roommates at the Craft Care Home. We had played Yahtzee with her once. We played Bingo with her many times. She was a very fun lady to be around because she was always naturally happy and had a good sense of humor. She was a very intelligent woman and had shared with us her days as a librarian. We will miss her and our prayers go out to the family and to Doris.
