Doris Mitchell

Age 86, our devoted wife, mother, grandmother went into the arms of the Lord peacefully on July 12, 2010. Doris was born on a farm in Ohio on March 23, 1924. She was class valedictorian of the class of 1942 at Rushsylvania High School. She married Myron Mitchell in August 1946, and they moved to Michigan in 1951. Family was very important to Doris, and she was active in her children?s, grandchildren?s, and great-grandchildren?s? lives. She worked for a while as an election inspector making sure your vote counted. She enjoyed gardening, bible study, and she was member of Trinity United Methodist Church

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron H. ?Timer? Mitchell, and sister, Nina Sieg.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Mitchell; son, Bruce (Joellen) Mitchell; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Ariynna) Garrison, Kelli (Emanuel) Bloanca, Kristen (Brandon) Blodgett, Michelle (John) Milam, Jim Mitchell, and Bobby Mitchell; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Garnet Gross; brother, Gilbert ?Bud? Kinney.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday with funeral services 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 16, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Rev. Rae Frank officiating.
