Age 92, our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was reunited with her husband and family in Heaven on December 21, 2014. Born October 13, 1922 in Paragould, AR. Dorothy worked at Diamond REO during WW II as a "Rosie the Riveter" building tank shells. She also worked at Michigan Bindery. She loved to sew, and was a skilled seamstress. She was a Cub Scout leader, 4-H leader, Madonna Circle member and she enjoyed canning. She had an incredible "Green Thumb" and was a wonderful joke teller.
Surviving are her children, Michael Dale (MaryJane) Holmes, Renee (Wendell) Dankenbring, Brian (Karen) Holmes, and Patti Holmes; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Larson, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 2-4, and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 28th, with a 7:00 P.M. Sunday Vigil Service at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral liturgy is 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 29, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. Paul Erickson presiding. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Monday at church. Rite of committal at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Dorothy.
