Douglas Jacobs

Doug went home to be with the Lord and Savior on January 1, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Ovid, Michigan on September 3, 1943 and lived in the area his whole life. Doug was a Navy veteran and served his country for 4 years of active duty. He retired from G. M. after 35 years of dedicated service and also was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Jacobs, and Violet & Martin Vitek. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; 3 sons, Michael, Eric (LeaAnne), and Christopher Jacobs; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Robert) Altvater; 2 nephews, Kim, and Mark (Fran) Altvater; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation is from 1-3, 5-7 P.M. Monday at church with funeral services 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 4, at the Heritage Baptist Church, 1380 E. Round Lake Rd., DeWitt, MI with Pastor Shawn Smith officiating. Interment Gunnisonville Cemetery with V.F.W. Post 671 of DeWitt providing military honors.
