Edgar Schneider

Edgar (Ed) passed away on September 26, 2012. He was born on May 31, 1932 to Louis and Lidwina (Thelen) Schneider in Fowler, MI. He was a 1950 graduate of Fowler High School. He married Monica Simon in 1954, and they were married for 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Monica Schneider; 3 brothers, Al, Lou, and Ron; daughter, Diane; son-in-law, Mike Horning; and son, Gary. He married Betty in 2001. He is survived by 3 daughters, Linda Richards, Audrey (Greg) Hoffman, and Julia (Matt) Gaffney; son, David Schneider; grandchildren, Lisa (Juan), Kristin, Owen (Angi), Kevin (Elizabeth), Allyson, Connor, Kyle, Elizabeth, Kam, Bree, Alex, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Ellianna, Addison, Oliver, and Rylin; 1 brother; 4 sisters; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Edgar was a charter member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, owner of American Income Life Insurance Agency in Lansing, MI, and he loved to play cards and travel. Funeral Liturgy is 10:30 AM Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary service at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, and Monday one hour prior to mass at church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to Mother Teresa House or The Eucharistic Home-Bound at St. Gerard.
