Elizabeth Hughes

Elizabeth Ione ?Jayne? Hughes Lansing, MI Jayne passed away on May 15, 2010 after a four year courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on June 7, 1945 to Gretchen and Charles Lauer in Lafayette Twp., Gratiot Co., Michigan. Jayne was predeceased by her father and two brothers, Chuck Lauer and Bill Lauer. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David Allen Hughes and their daughter, Tracy Kay (James) Brock; two beloved grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth and Corey Michael Brock; mother, Gretchen Lauer -Lutz; two sisters, Clara Lauer, and Edna (Michael) Marks; brother, Arthur (Betty) Lauer, and special friends, Betty and Shelia Darcy, Mario and Sue Ledesma, Orville and Sharon Coney; Henry and Doris Cheeseman; and her pet dog, Doc. Jayne was a person of strong determination who loved her family with a passion and was not afraid to show it. She was a loving and devoted grandmother, whom her grandkids called ?Grandma Honey?. The time she spent with her daughter and her grandchildren was very important to her and to them as well. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren, attending their sporting and dance events, and taking frequent trips to the local casinos where she loved to play the slot machines. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. both Saturday and Sunday with services 1:30 P.M. Monday, May 24 in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Pastor Nicolette Siragusa of the First Congregation Church of Grand Ledge officiating. Interment Delta Center Cemetery.
