A favorite hymn of hers was “How Great Thou Art”. Now with her Lord Ethel Worgul continues to sing His praises. In anticipation of glory, she often said, “My bags are packed, and I’m at the station waiting for the Lord to take me home.” Her home-going was August 2, 2011. Born to Ethel and John Papin in Vinna, Czechoslovakia, Ethel migrated with her parents to the United States in 1921. They lived in Cleveland, OH and Canonsburg, PA among the several migrant families from whom Ethel’s many friends came and grew up with her until her graduation from Canonsburg High School in 1938. Shortly afterward she married Ernest F. Worgul of whom she has been widowed since 2001. She leaves behind her sister, Marie (Emmerson) Schoonhoven; daughters, Joyce (Dave) Gustafson and Karen (Kim) Hiltunen; son, John E. (Kathy) Worgul; brothers-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Worgul and David (Ann) Worgul; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Her funeral will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 5, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Pastor Daniel Towar officiating.
