Evelyn Patterson. 83, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Evelyn was born on October 11, 1930 in Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Evelyn Smith and 5 siblings. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John; loving and devoted mother of Neal, John (Donna), Penny Sue, Steven (Roxie) and Jeffrey; special daughter-in-law Patty; sister-in-law, Sue (Joe) Cross; niece and nephew Brenda Miller and Jim Cross; great nieces Caroline and Kimberly Miller. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Sherry Swanson, Jill (Bruce) Munk, Julie (Korey) Lockwood, John (Jennifer) Patterson, Bria (Joe) Bare; great grandchildren, Melissa and Bret Munk, Derek Ranes, Broque Schmidt, Kodey and Kayden Lockwood, Wyatt and Declan Bare, John Robert, Hannah May, Sarah Kate and Libby Jane Patterson; special grandson-in-law Dan Rademacher who always made a point to call her on birthdays and holidays. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved playing cards and every Friday and Saturday night you could stop by and play a hand or two. She loved baking, reading, shopping, playing bingo and going to the casino. She was a wonderful mother and grandma and will be missed. We are all very sad to have lost this wonderful lady but we know she is in heaven and with her best friend, Annie. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Gorsline Runicman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with Dr. Dave Garver officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral home.
