Born March 22, 1918, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Charles and Katherine Strawder; she received Christ at the very early age of 10. After graduating from North Minneapolis High School she moved to Detroit, Mich. Under the leadership of the late Bishop P.L. Lockett, she was joined in holy matrimony with the late Elder Lloyd A. Wiggins on November 14, 1945 in Seattle, Wash.
Faye’s love for Christ touched thousands of people through her Helps Ministry by introducing his word to people who would not have ever known him. For decades she would pray and minister to the sick and shut-in using Family Life radio as a vehicle to identify them. She mailed thousands of cards, tracts and dollar bills to people whom she had never met. Her belief was that it was not God’s will for us to throw people away. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Sharron Allen, Jacqueline Lee (Gerald), Phebe Holston, son in Christ, Perry Bell (Gina) and her grandchildren, Jacinda and Alberth Adams III, Gregory Jr., Pheniecia and Faye Holston, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd, brothers Jack Sr. and Donald, and her sister Alberta Strawder.
Services will be held at Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ, 4331 Sycamore Street, Holt, Mich. on June 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services at 10 a.m.
