With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Mrs. Felicia Idusuyi announces her peaceful passing on May 21, 2026, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Felicia Idusuyi was born on April 3, 1940, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, to the late Pa Osabuohien and the late Madam Agbonlahor Osabuohien. She was the beloved wife of the late Chief Gabriel Idusuyi.
A devoted Christian, educator, mother, grandmother, sister, mentor, and friend, Mrs. Idusuyi dedicated much of her life to teaching and nurturing young minds. She firmly believed that education was one of life's greatest gifts. Her passion for learning, discipline, and excellence shaped countless lives, beginning with her own children and extending to generations of students, relatives, and community members.
Known affectionately as “Iyenogie”—meaning “Great Mother”—Mrs Felicia Idusuyi embodied the meaning of her name. She was a woman of strength, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her home was always open, her counsel always available, and her love freely given. Whether through a warm meal, a word of encouragement, or a simple phone call, she made everyone feel valued, welcomed, and cared for.
Mrs. Idusuyi found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving mother to her seven children: Christopher, Efosa, Kennedy, Iyobosa, Edna, Innocent, and Edwin. She was also a cherished grandmother whose love, guidance, prayers, and devotion helped shape the lives of her grandchildren. Her influence extended far beyond her immediate family, touching friends, relatives, neighbors, former students, and community members throughout her life.
She will be remembered for her radiant smile, elegant sense of style, strong spirit, delicious cooking, wise counsel, and steadfast commitment to family. Her legacy of faith, sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love will continue to inspire generations to come.
Though her physical presence is gone, the values she instilled, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her seven children, 22 grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
The visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, between the hours of 2 PM - 4 PM & 6 PM - 8 PM at Gorsline Funeral Home - Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48917.
The funeral service will held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:30 am at Lansing Central United Methodist Church, 215 N Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI 48933. The family will gather at church beginning at 9:30 am to receive friends until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Delta Hillside Cemetery, 6415 Delta River Drive, Lansing, MI 48906
