Frances Ernestine Dennis (nee English), a beloved and cherished individual, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 81 in Holt, Michigan. Born on May 20, 1944, in Lansing, Michigan, Frances was the daughter of Ernest and Margaret (McGuire) English, both of whom preceded her in death.
Frances attended Lansing Eastern High School, where she laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. She worked for the State of Michigan until her retirement in 2002, exemplifying a strong work ethic throughout her career.
Frances had a passion for bowling, snowmobiling, and spending time in nature. She was a cheerleader for her children and grandchildren, supporting them in all their endeavors.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hopp (Michael) of Laingsburg, and her son, Brian Burger (Penny) of Holt. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jessica David (Timothy), Adam Husby (Hannah), Brenden Burger (Isabella), Brianna Burger (Landen Bonotto), Cassondra Hopp (Brandon Cheng), and Hunter Hopp. Frances was also a proud great-grandmother to Daniel, Isaac, Wyatt, Ella, and Sawyer. She is survived by her brother, William English (Sumalee) of Charlotte, and her sister, Marilyn Lindemann (Larry) of Mason; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Marlene Senzig.
Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, located at 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912, on November 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on December 1, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow on December 1, 2025, at 11:00 am.
Pallbearers for the service will include Brenden Burger, Adam Husby, Timothy David, Landen Bonotto, Hunter Hopp, and Brandon Cheng.
Frances will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
