Frances F. LaLonde

Frances Flora Butcher LaLonde, born May 22, 1916, passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2015, living to the age of ninety-nine years and one day. She was retired from Michigan State University. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Flora Lammon Butcher; sister Mildred Switko; and husband of 69 years, Fred “Buck” LaLonde. Surviving their union is a son Barry (Melene “Mimi”) LaLonde; three grandchildren, Scott and Mark Smith, Jane (Mark) Ziebell; three great-grandchildren; one great, great grand-daughter. Those surviving also include a brother, Claude (Amanda) Butcher Jr. and nieces and nephews. A special thank you to nephew Sean Leatham and caregiver Karen Kintgen for their kind hearts and gentle hands. Frances will also be missed by her fur companion, Missy. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing, Michigan on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at 11am. Guests are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906 in memory of Fran.
