Garrett Andrew McGowan

Garrett “Bean” Andrew McGowan, age 20 of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022. He was born on August 6, 2002 in Lansing, Michigan to Heidi McGowan and Filomeno Galaviz, Jr. Brave Little Warrior Garrett McGowan graduated from Waverly High School in 2020. He was also Sparrow’s 2015 Children’s Miracle Network Child. He Loved sports and was known to collect hats. Garrett had a smile that lit up a room! Garrett is survived by his loving mother, Heidi McGowan (Shaun Turgeon); his big brother, Gavin C. McGowan; father, Filomeno Galaviz Jr.; half-siblings, Filomeno Galaviz III, Mariela, Marissa and Moriah Galaviz; grandparents, Garold McGowan (Linda Ekins) and Irma Galaviz; great-grandfather, Kenneth Coll; uncle, Corey McGowan (Sonia), cousins, Corey and Caleb McGowan; and very special friends, Shad Cunningham, Bryson Fronta, Scotty Pentecost and Jacob and Tyler Hartman. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Joy McGowan and Raymond Genick; great-grandparents, Daisy Coll, Howard and Zelma McGowan; great aunt, Robin Muns; and grandfather, Filomeno Galaviz. A Memorial Service for Garrett will be held on January 28, 2023 at City Church, 6228 Bishop Rd., Lansing, MI 48911. Visitation and Prayer service between 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
