Gerald Franklin Daman

Gerald was born June 16, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan.

He was one of four children born to Frank and Bessie Daman. Gerald graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. On June 19, 1954, he married his high school sweetheart Berniece J. Strong. They built their family while living throughout the Lansing area, landing in Mulliken, MI in 1977. Throughout his life, Gerald wasn’t afraid of hard work, honing his craft as a stone mason and brick layer for over 50 years.

He was an experienced mason, becoming a sought-after expert, often traveling to other states upon request. After retirement he spent many years volunteering at Ingham Regional Medical Center and for the Red Cross. Other favorite past times included golfing, hunting, gardening and square dancing with Berniece.

Gerald is survived by his brother, Clyde (Ann) Daman and sister-in-law Patricia Daman. He is also survived by his children, Paul Daman (Lyn), Cynthia (John) Davidson, and DeWayne (Amber) Daman. He was the supportive grandfather to Brandi (Alberto)Mar, Amy (Dustin) Hartley, Candace Trumble, Zachary Trumble (Betsy), Adysen and Akaela Daman, and Amanda (Michael) Moriconi. He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Allen, Alex, Lillianna, Serenity, Hailee, Connor, Cian, Jamesen, Alyssa, and Tiberius. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years- Berniece, his mother Bessie, father Frank, siblings Mark and Ruth, and special friend Lynda Riley.

We will miss your gentle smile, humor, stories, patience and strength in your faith. We will honor you by leading our lives as you have led yours. We will love you always, forget you never, and may you rest forever in God’s Peace.

The visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6- 8 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home - Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48917.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11 AM at Community Baptist Church of Lansing 7832 W. Mt. Hope Hwy., Grand Ledge, MI 48837. Visitation at church beginning at 10 AM until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
