Gloriana Purdy

Gloriana Purdy, age 94, of Lansing, Michigan passed away at her home on May 24, 2024. She was born in St. Johns, Michigan on December 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearl Loney. Gloriana graduated with honors from Sexton High School. Gloriana married LaVere Arlo Purdy and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage until his passing in 2020. After raising their children, Gloriana worked several years for the Secretary of State’s Office. She was a long time member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church of Lansing.

Gloriana is survived by two sons, Raymond (Melinda) Purdy and Stephen (Shirley) Purdy; two daughters, Maribeth (Greg) Ross and Jean (Edward) Stacey; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVere; grandson, Raymond Michael Purdy, and her parents.

Gloriana enjoyed traveling; she and LaVere traveled to all fifty states, most by RVing. They traveled also abroad and shared many happy memories on the road together. She loved to sing and was a member of the Church Choir, and also the Marsingers for several years.

In accordance with Gloriana’s wishes, cremation has taken place and family memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
