Gwendolyn Jean Oliver

Of Lansing

Born to William and Florence (Bowers) Hawk in DeWitt on June 24, 1936, the 12th of 16 children and left the boundaries of this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2011. She was married to her sweetheart Billy Oliver for 54 years who survives her. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her children Craig Oliver, Kimberly (Steve) Grinnell and Cindy (Bernie) Betts, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Gwen also enjoyed, and will be missed by, her large family of brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Among her many avocations Gwen was particularly proud of her management position with the Diamond Reo Motor Car Company, The Shopping Guide, and her years as president of the Diamond Reo Girls Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday February 14, 2011 at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 4303 S. Martin Lutheran King Blvd, Lansing, Michigan. Special love and thanks to Gwen’s sister Phyllis and her husband Stan Murray and the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Those desiring can make memorial contributions to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or St. Vincent DePaul.
