Harriett E. Boughner

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away October 23, 2012 at the age of 92. Harriett was born April 4, 1920 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Ira Augusta and Roxie (Humbry) Bailey. She grew up on a farm near Dansville where she learned many things that would become the foundation of her life. Harriett was a very competent and handy woman who performed all of her own home maintenance. She became an excellent cook, and everyone that knew her knew where they could get a good meal, “at Harriett’s house”. Harriett will be remembered as a woman with a huge heart for people, being a treasured neighbor and serving in times of need. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry; son, Preston; and brothers, Fred and Jim Bailey. She will be sorely missed by her family. Surviving to cherish her memory, son, Robert (Susan) Boughner of Lansing; grandchildren, Kristy (Tom) Butz of Phoenix, AZ and Laurie Davis of Phoenix, AZ; and six great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
